Health:

• Tap water is not safe to drink. All water must be boiled or filtered unless its bottled mineral water.
• No vaccinations are required. However, tetanus and typhoid are important when traveling anywhere, and rabies and hepatitis are recommended.

 

Transportation:

• Taxis and motorcycle taxis (which do not take credit cards) are widely available in the city, but once you are settled it is best to rent a bike and pedal around.
• Buses are best for long distance traveling.
• Road side driving is on the right in Mainland China, but on the left in Hong Kong.
